ASIATODAY.ID, JAKARTA – Indonesian Deputy Minister of Communication and Information, Nezar Patria, revealed that global technology companies Microsoft and Apple intend to invest in Indonesia.
“The CEOs of Apple and Microsoft want to visit Indonesia. They have written letters, and they have the intention to invest in Indonesia,” said Nezar, Friday, March 22 2024.
Nezar hopes that the collaboration that will be built later with the two companies will provide great benefits, especially in building the capacity and competence of digital talent in Indonesia.
According to Nezar, the focus of collaboration with Apple and Microsoft will include human resource development and the manufacturing sector.
He assessed that the investment plans of the two companies would open up broad opportunities for Indonesia.
“If they are interested in investing, I think we will open our arms wide and of course while strengthening our own national strength,” said Nezar.
Nezar explained that during his visit to Indonesia, Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella and Apple CEO Tim Cook planned to meet President Joko Widodo.
“They sent a letter to meet with state leaders,” he said.
Previously, the Indonesian Minister of Communication and Information, Budi Arie Setiadi, said that his party was preparing to meet representatives from Microsoft and Apple.
“Microsoft CEO wants to come in mid-April, while Apple CEO Tim Cook also wants to come April 20. He wants to create an Apple Academy, later we want to see and review the Apple Academy,” said Budi, Thursday, March 21 2024.
He specifically mentioned Microsoft, one of the topics discussed was related to the development of digital talent and also the development of Artificial Intelligence (AI) technology in Indonesia.
Meanwhile, the meeting with Apple will focus on specifically discussing the development of more professional digital talents. (ATN)
