ASIATODAY.ID, JAKARTA – Bali has won the title of second most popular wedding destination in the world in 2024, according to the latest survey by Bounce.
Getting a high wedding score, namely 8.19/10, makes Bali among the best wedding destinations in the world, alongside Tuscany and Lake Como in Italy.
The beauty of white sandy beaches, colorful coral reefs and expansive rice fields provide the perfect backdrop for couples from all over the world to tie the knot as long as they live.
Bali not only offers exotic locations, but also authentic cultural experiences that make special moments even more unforgettable.
With more than 1.3 million posts on social media using the hashtag #baliwedding, Bali has become a star on platforms such as Instagram and TikTok. In fact, during last year there were 96 thousand searches on Google with the phrase ‘Bali Wedding’. This also makes Bali the most popular wedding destination on social media throughout the world.
These posts often feature couples posing in front of sacred temples or against the backdrop of stunning beach and mountain views.
Indonesia’s Minister of Tourism for Creative Economy, Sandiaga Uno, emphasized that Bali does offer unique benefits for couples, especially for Indian tourists.
“Indian couples who got married in Bali said that Bali was attractive not only for its scenery and culture, but the most important thing was that getting married in Bali was cheaper for them,” said Sandiaga at the Futures Forum in Jakarta, Thursday, May 2 2024.
Apart from organizing the celebration in Bali, married couples only need to pay for plane tickets and event venue rental.
Meanwhile expenses can be kept lower by inviting a smaller number of guests. What’s more, according to Sandiaga, a wedding in India can include up to 5 thousand guests, which means much higher costs.
“The Indian couples who got married in Indonesia are some of the Indian tourists who in the 2023 period recorded the second highest number of visits to Bali after tourists from Australia,” said Sandiaga.
Some popular hotels in Bali for those on a budget include Prama Sanur Beach, Hilton Garden Inn, and Royal Tulip Springhill Resort. This choice shows that Bali offers a variety of accommodation options that can be tailored to each couple’s needs and budget. (ATN)
