ASIATODAY.ID, BANDUNG – Bandung Regency, West Java, exported 19.5 tonnes of arabica and robusta coffee to France with a value of IDR 2 billion.
This export was realized through collaboration between the government and the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
This export is an effort to restore the glory of Bandung Regency coffee in Europe and the Middle East, as well as part of expanding coffee export opportunities overseas.
“There is quite a lot of demand for Bandung Regency coffee, especially from European and Middle Eastern countries,” said Head of the Bandung Regency Trade and Industry Service, Dicky Anugerah, Monday, November 20 2023.
So far, the region has exported coffee to other countries such as countries in the Middle East, Germany, the United States, Australia, New Zealand and East Asia such as Japan and Korea.
“Apart from France, Bandung Regency has also exported coffee to several countries, such as Hamburg, Germany in February 2021 by sending 6 tons of Arabica coffee,” he said.
He hopes that farmers and cooperatives in Bandung Regency can maintain the quality and quantity of exported coffee, both Arabica and Robusta, so that exports can continue to flow.
Apart from that, Bandung Regency has also exported other agricultural commodities such as ginger and tubers to Malaysia, porang plants to China and manufacturing industrial exports to several other countries.
“The Bandung Regency Government will continue to encourage the quality and quantity of commodities from Bandung Regency to be exported,” said Dicky. (AT Network)
