“As a national private company owned by the nation’s children, Ceria is trying to position itself at the forefront of the global supply chain for the EV industry in Indonesia,” said Derian at The International 3rd Nickel Producers, Processors & Buyers Conference, at the Shangri-La Hotel Jakarta, May 7-8, 2024.

According to Derian, this is stated in the company’s Roadmap, which positions Ceria as a competitive player, both in the nickel market and the domestic and international EV battery industry.

Ceria is currently racing to complete the construction of the RKEF Line 1 Smelter or known as the ‘Merah Putih’ Smelter, which produces Ferronickel with a nickel content of 22 percent. In addition, Ceria is also continuing construction of the Matte Nickel Converter which is scheduled to start in the second quarter of 2024, with the aim of achieving a higher nickel content, namely 73.69 percent.

Ceria is also preparing to build the RKEF Line 2 Smelter, with the hope that RKEF can produce 126,400 tons of Ferronickel per year. Ceria is also developing phase 1 of the HPAL factory, with a construction target in the third quarter of 2024. This HPAL factory is designed to produce 146,600 tons of MHP per year.

Ceria’s development plans include further processing of MHP from the HPAL factory into Nickel and Cobalt Sulfate, followed by processing Matte Nickel into Nickel Sulfate (Nickel Matte Refinery) in stages. Nickel Sulfate from the two production lines will then be processed into a precursor, the main raw material for battery production.

The 3rd Nickel Producers, Processors & Buyers Conference is an event that brings together many CEOs from nickel mining companies, nickel smelting developers, electric vehicle (EV) battery pioneers, as well as well-known experts from Indonesia and abroad.

As one of the activity participants, Ceria also became an exhibitor to show the development of the ‘Merah Putih’ smelter project, the company’s business achievements & roadmap, Good Mining Practices & ESG Compliance activities, as well as the company’s Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) products to the participants. conference.

Corporate Secretary of PT Ceria Nugraha Indotama, Imelda Kiagoes, said that Ceria’s presence at this prestigious event is expected to have a positive impact on the energy and mineral resources sector in Indonesia in responding to global demand.

“This prestigious event gives Ceria a clearer picture of the nickel industry in 2024 and beyond,” said Imelda. (AT Network)
