ASIATODAY.ID, JAKARTA – The energy, port and shipping infrastructure company, PT Humpuss Maritim Internasional Tbk (HUMI) has just purchased a new tanker, MT Mutiara Global with a dead weight tonnage (DWT) of 7,971.5 tons.
This expansion of the company owned by Tommy Soeharto complements the addition of two previous tug boats. This expansion step was taken to achieve the 2024 revenue and profit target which is expected to grow 20% from 2023.
“This tanker, which was built in 2002 and weighs 7,971.5 tonnes, is an oil and chemical tanker to serve the increasing need for small II-white oil vessels,” said Director of PT Humpuss Maritim Internasional Tbk Tirta Hidayat, quoted on Saturday, June 1 2024.
It is said that the procurement of this tanker is part of the business development plan of PT PCS Internasional (PCSI), a subsidiary of HUMI, which has been launched in 2024.
In early May 2024, HUMI also brought in two tugboats through another subsidiary, namely PT Humpuss Transport Curah. This tug boat helps navigate the limited maneuverability of large ships, especially in busy and narrow areas, such as ports.
The oil transportation business in 2023 will contribute US$ 20,578 million to HUMI’s total revenue. Meanwhile the chemical transport business contributed around US$ 14,429 million.
In a public presentation in February 2024, Tirta Hidayat said the company targets profits by the end of 2024 to increase by around 20% in line with revenue.
Throughout 2023, Humpuss Maritim Internasional recorded a consolidated net profit of US$ 12.69 million, an increase of 15.94% compared to 2022 which was US$ 10.94 million.
Meanwhile, revenue reached US$ 106.38 million, up 16.22% compared to 2022 which was around US$ 91.53 million. (ATN)
