ASIATODAY.ID, PRAYA – Investor from Dubai who is the Director of Silver Height Real Estate, Samir Ahmed Munshi is interested in investing in the tourist area of Selong Belanak Village, Central Lombok Regency, West Nusa Tenggara.
“Samir will develop 3, 4 and 5 star hotels in the southern Central Lombok region to support tourism development,” said Australian investor and owner of Tropik Resort and Villa in Lombok, Michael Martin, in Praya, Saturday, January 27 2024.
He said he had communicated with Samir and planned to come to Lombok in early February 2024, to meet with the regional government. This is a form of commitment to invest in Central Lombok, because the beach tourist destination is quite beautiful.
“Apart from building hotels, we will build shopping centers and other tourism-related facilities,” he said.
With the construction of this hotel, Lombok could become one of the largest tourist destinations in the world. Many investors want to come in, but a lot of land in Selong Belanak Village is problematic, so it is hoped that the government can support investors who want to build.
“Don’t let there be a lot of empty land but don’t want to build on it,” he said.
He said the area of land that will be developed for the construction of hotels, restaurants and shopping centers is around 20 hectares.
He is motivated to develop the southern part of Central Lombok, because it has beautiful beaches, such as Selong Belanak Beach, Mawun Beach, Torok Aik Belek Beach, and Mawi Beach.
“We still involve local residents in work, even though there are foreign residents,” he said again.
He said that his party was also implementing the Lombok Alive program which included outreach and training programs to improve the skills of local people so they could work in the construction and hotel services sector.
His party has developed a program called Maju Bersama which will improve the construction skills of workers and make them ready to work with professional development.
“Residents who are trained receive certificates and each developer is obliged to recruit a minimum of 50 percent of local workers. We need government support to improve road infrastructure, especially irrigation networks to prevent flooding,” he stressed. (ANT)
