Emirates Airlines will Increase its Fleet and Flight Frequency in Indonesia

Emirates Airlines. Doc

ASIATODAY.ID, DUBAI – Emirates Airlines is ready to increase its flight frequency and fleet of large aircraft, such as the Airbus A380 and Boeing 777, to major cities in Indonesia including Jakarta, Surabaya and Denpasar.

This plan refers to the high level of interest and demand for this type of aircraft, as well as the runway capacity and operational support of airports in Indonesia which meet international standards.

Emirates’ business development plans in Indonesia were revealed when the Coordinating Minister for the Indonesian Economy, Airlangga Hartarto, held a meeting with the Divisional Senior Vice President (DSVP) of Emirates Airlines, Sheikh Majid Al Mualla, on the sidelines of the annual World Governments Summit in Dubai, United Arab Emirates (UAE) for 2025, Tuesday, 11 February 2025.

“The experience of flying with the Airbus A380 fleet is a special attraction because it provides flight comfort. “Apart from that, the runway at Soekarno-Hatta International Airport meets flight standards for large-body aircraft,” said Majid.

Furthermore, Sheikh Majid emphasized that increasing the fleet and flight frequency will have an impact on increasing the number of visitors and tourists who will visit Indonesia, so that it will contribute positively to the development of the tourism sector in Indonesia.

Airlangga appreciates and supports this plan, and emphasizes that the addition of the large-body aircraft fleet, especially for business and tourism destination cities, will have the potential to increase interest in visits by business people and tourists to Indonesia.

“The addition of fleets to tourist and business destination cities will support the development of the tourism sector, which is one of the mainstays for achieving the economic growth target of 8%,” said Airlangga.

Airlangga also said that in terms of infrastructure and operational support, several international airports in Indonesia are ready for the arrival of large-body aircraft fleets such as the Airbus A380.

“With adequate infrastructure and operational support, we are ready to welcome Emirates’ investment and business development plans in Indonesia,” concluded Airlangga.

At the end of the meeting session, Airlangga said that his party would coordinate further with policy makers in relevant Ministries and Institutions, to maximize every potential investment cooperation offer, especially business development plans that would encourage the tourism sector in Indonesia.
