Fire at Marina Bay Sands! Singapore in Shock

Fire at Marina Bay Sands, Singapore. Special

ASIATODAY.ID, SINGAPORE — Panic swept across Singapore’s iconic Marina Bay area on Tuesday, October 28, 2025 afternoon after thick black smoke was seen rising from the 55th floor of Marina Bay Sands (MBS) Tower 3.

The fire reportedly started around 3:30 p.m. local time in a restricted area not accessible to guests.

“The fire occurred in a non-guest area and was extinguished by our in-house emergency team before the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) arrived,” MBS spokesperson.

Authorities confirmed that no injuries were reported, but an investigation is underway to determine the cause of the blaze that briefly disrupted one of Asia’s most luxurious landmarks.

In a separate statement, SCDF said preliminary findings point to welding activity as the likely cause.

“Preliminary investigations suggest the fire originated from welding work carried out nearby,” SCDF said.

Images and videos of dark smoke rising above the Marina Bay skyline quickly went viral on social media, raising concerns about safety protocols in Singapore’s ultra-modern skyscrapers.

As of now, MBS officials are working closely with local authorities to ensure the building’s systems remain secure and that operations can resume safely. (AT Network)
