ASIATODAY.ID, JAKARTA – Indonesia’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Sugiono, has reaffirmed Indonesia’s unwavering commitment to stand with the people of Palestine.
Under the leadership of President Prabowo Subianto, Indonesia is taking concrete steps to provide humanitarian assistance, strengthen diplomatic efforts, and even prepare to host Palestinian war victims for medical treatment in Indonesia.
Minister Sugiono emphasized that Indonesia has consistently demonstrated solidarity with Palestine — not only through diplomacy but also through development aid, capacity building, and direct humanitarian support.
“President Prabowo has given clear instructions: Indonesia will always stand shoulder to shoulder with Palestine in its struggle,” FM Sugiono stated on Friday, April 11, 2025.
In pursuing conflict resolution, Minister Sugiono reiterated Indonesia’s firm support for the Two-State Solution as the foundation for lasting peace between Palestine and Israel.
“Indonesia continues to urge an immediate end to all forms of violence against the Palestinian people,” he asserted.
Indonesia Ready to Host Palestinian War Victims for Treatment
As a concrete manifestation of its commitment, Minister Sugiono revealed that Indonesia is prepared to receive Palestinian war victims — particularly civilians, the wounded, and orphaned children — to receive medical treatment and trauma care in Indonesia.
“Should all relevant parties agree, Indonesia stands ready to provide medical treatment for war victims, including orphaned children suffering from trauma,” he said.
Minister Sugiono firmly rejected any attempts to permanently relocate Palestinians from their homeland.
“Let me be clear — Indonesia rejects any effort to relocate or alter the demographic composition of Gaza. Such actions constitute a violation of international law,” he stressed.
Currently, Minister Sugiono explained, Indonesia is conducting intensive consultations with the Palestinian government and other key countries, including Egypt, Turkiye, and Qatar.
Domestically, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs is coordinating with relevant ministries and agencies to ensure technical readiness for the humanitarian mission.
“Every step taken by Indonesia is solely in the interest of the Palestinian people — while fully respecting their sovereignty and their right to remain in their homeland,” Minister Sugiono concluded. (AT Network)
