ASIATODAY.ID, JAKARTA – A fire broke out in the basement of the Graha CIMB Niaga Building on Jalan Jenderal Sudirman, Senayan, South Jakarta, Saturday, June 15 2024.

It is currently believed that the fire occurred due to an electrical short circuit. Head of the South Jakarta Fire and Rescue Service, Satriadi Gunawan, said that the fire occurred at around 13.20 WIB.

“The object is the basement of the Graha CIMB Niaga Building,” he said.

According to Satriadi, the source of the fire came from the basement and there was apparently a polyclinic room there. There may be an electrical short circuit.

Satriadi said his party deployed 17 fire engines to extinguish the fire.

“We have deployed up to 17 units with 70 personnel. Because we anticipate there will be no upward spiral,” he said.

Currently, the fire has been successfully extinguished and the cooling process is underway.

So far there have been no reported casualties, while the value of the losses has not been confirmed but is estimated at hundreds of millions of rupiah. (ATN)
