ASIATODAY.ID, JAKARTA – Coldplay’s concert at the Gelora Bung Karno Stadium (GBK), Jakarta, Wednesday, November 15 2023 evening was greeted enthusiastically by the audience.
Tens of thousands of spectators who packed the Gelora Bung Karno Stadium were enthusiastic about Coldplay’s music. Green and red lights alternate to enliven the atmosphere.
Coldplay vocalist Chris Martin admitted that he was very happy to hold a concert for the first time in Jakarta.
“Incredible audience. Thank you, I’m happy,” he said while singing the song Sky Full of The Stars.
Chris Martin thanked many parties, from fans to the Indonesian government.
On the concert stage, the vocalist thanked these parties because Coldplay could finally have a concert in Jakarta that night.
“Thank you all, we are very grateful and happy to be here in Indonesia. Thank you also to your government [Jakarta, Indonesia] for allowing us to appear here,” said Chris Martin.
The Music of the Spheres concert was the first opportunity for Coldplay and fans in Indonesia to meet in person. This marked the British band’s first concert to Indonesia since its debut in 1997.
Therefore, not only directly as conveyed by Chris Martin, they also expressed their feelings through uploads on social media.
Based on a post on Instagram Story on Wednesday (15/11) evening, Coldplay drummer Will Champion thanked Indonesian fans who have been patiently waiting for their concert for many years.
“Well, better late than never. It took us 25 years to be in Jakarta and it took me to the B-stage section to remember to upload this photo,” wrote Will Champion in the upload.
The writing is set against the backdrop of drums on stage. Above the drum there is also an image of the city icon of Jakarta, Monas, and the date of Coldplay’s first concert in Indonesia “15/11/23.”
In the upload, the British band member also revealed the atmosphere in Jakarta on the night of the concert.
“Hot and sweaty and absolutely amazing. Thank you for waiting for us. W.X,” Will wrote.
After Jakarta, Coldplay will go to Australia for a two-day concert in Perth, followed by Kuala Lumpur, which is their final destination in 2023. The Music of the Spheres tour will continue in 2024.
