ASIATODAY.ID, JAKARTA – The Ministry of Transportation of the Republic of Indonesia hosted a meeting of civil aviation authorities in the Asia Pacific region with the United States Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) in Bali.
The meeting, which was attended by 13 Asia Pacific countries, discussed regulations, technology and developments in aviation safety.
“It is a great honor for Indonesia to host this important meeting to discuss collaboration to advance aviation safety in a balanced manner with the development of environmentally friendly civil aviation technology,” said Director of Aviation Navigation at the Directorate General of Civil Aviation of the Indonesian Ministry of Transportation, Sigit Hani Hadiyanto when opening the meeting. in Denpasar, Bali, Tuesday, May 7 2024.
According to him, air space in the Asia Pacific region functions as a catalyst for progress, facilitating trade and other business activities, promoting tourism and cultural exchange on an unprecedented scale.
“This provides a shared responsibility to ensure the safety and welfare of all people who depend on air transportation. “Therefore, collective efforts are needed and cooperation and collaboration of all stakeholders involved,” said Sigit.
This activity is expected to be a catalyst for positive change and lead to progress in the fields of safety, the environment and the development of civil aviation technology which will not only benefit the Asia Pacific region, but also the entire global aviation community.
Sigit said that the event, which will last until May 10 2024, will be attended by 13 Asia Pacific countries, including Indonesia as the host, Australia, China, Taiwan, Hong Kong, India, Japan, Korea, Malaysia, New Zealand, Singapore and Timor Leste.
The meeting between the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), which is the United States civil aviation authority, with civil aviation authorities and Asia Pacific aviation industry players will discuss current topics related to civil aviation regulations and technology, including Advanced Air Mobility (AAM) and Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS).
Then they also discussed certification and safety audit systems, the development and use of Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) and environmental protection in aviation, as managed by regulators, the aviation industry and other cross-industry stakeholders. (ATN)
