ASIATODAY.ID, JAKARTA – Indonesia is again trusted to hold the F1 Powerboat international motorboat race on March 2-3 2024.

The 2024 F1 Powerboat on Lake Toba is planned to be held in Balige, Toba Regency, North Sumatra, which will be attended by 18 international racers from 10 countries.

Indonesia was named the best organizer, referring to the trophy awarded at the Grand Prix of Sharjah H2O Racing in December 2023.

So, the 2024 F1 Powerboat event is an important moment for the local community because it is an ongoing event.

“We should be grateful because Indonesia has been named the best organizer for the powerboat and aquabike events,” said the Coordinating Minister for Maritime and Investment, Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan, at the F1 Powerboat Lake Toba Press Conference at the Coordinating Ministry for Maritime and Investment Building, Central Jakarta, Wednesday, 7 February 2024.

Reflecting on last year’s implementation, hosting this event had a positive impact on the economy for Indonesia which reached 1.68 trillion rupiah and attracted around 100,000 tourists.

“We express our appreciation to all parties involved in making this event a success. “Last year, when we first did it, the economic impact was 1.68 trillion rupiah and brought in almost 100,000 tourists,” said Luhut.

For information, this year’s F1 Powerboat event will also be enlivened by the first series of the Aquabike Indonesian Championship.

In this event, 2 categories will be held, namely endurance and parallel slalom. Around 20 national racers will take part in this event. This opportunity will open up opportunities for athletes to develop their best performance and participate in the next Aquabike World Championship on Lake Toba. (AT Network)
