ASIATODAY.ID, JAKARTA – The Indonesian government will implement a visa-free policy for 20 countries.
Of the 20 countries, they include China, Australia, India, South Korea, the United States, England, France, Germany, the Netherlands, Japan, Russia, Taiwan, New Zealand, Italy and Spain. Then, the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Qatar and several other Middle Eastern countries.
The list of 20 countries was submitted by the Indonesian Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy, Sandiaga Uno at the request of President Joko Widodo (Jokowi).
According to Sandiaga, these countries were chosen for two reasons. First, because the number of tourists visiting Indonesia is high. Second, for the Arab region and Middle Eastern countries, ventilation is related to the contribution of investment and the Indonesian economy.
“In this month, President Jokowi ordered that the list of countries that will be issued for free visits be perfected, to get approval and follow up with a policy that will provide visa-free visits to several countries that we will prioritize,” he said after an internal meeting related to visas. at the State Palace, Thursday, December 7 2023.
Previously, Indonesia had provided a visa-free policy on arrival to 97 countries. Apart from that, there are also 10 countries that are granted visa-free visits. (AT Network)
