Indonesian Film ‘Dancing Village: The Curse Begins’ Premieres in the US

ASIATODAY.ID, JAKARTA – The Indonesian film entitled Dancing Village: The Curse Begins” directed by Kimo Stamboel, produced by MD Pictures, held its premiere at the IMAX MCA studio cinema, Westfield Century City, Los Angeles, United States (US) on Thursday, April 4 2024 evening local time.

“It’s an honor for Indonesian films to be here, and send prayers to us so that our films are liked here,” said Dancing Village: The Curse Begins actor Jourdy Pranata in an official statement received on Friday, April 5 2024.

This film is scheduled to be released in United States theaters in mid-April 2024.

Producer and CEO of MD Pictures Manoj Punjabi said the premiere of Dancing Village: The Curse Begins received a positive response from American audiences.

According to him, the enthusiasm of the audience was visible when several actors and directors arrived on the red carpet and the number of invited guests came more than the seats provided.

“I feel great and amazing that finally an Indonesian film can get such a big response. If we look, 80 percent of Americans can’t wait to see this film,” said Manoj Punjabi.

Manoj said he wanted to introduce the film Dancing Village: The Curse Begins to foreign audiences and hoped that the enthusiasm of audiences in the United States for this film could be transmitted to others.

“We want exposure, with foreigners watching, and the diaspora can spread their experience of watching Dancing Village: The Curse Begins,” concluded Manoj Punjabi.

Apart from Manoj Punjabi, Aulia Sarah and Jourdy Pranata, the premiere of the film Dancing Village: The Curse Begins was also attended by director Kimo Stamboel, scriptwriter Lele Laila, actors Maudy Effrosina and Ardhit Erwanda.

Also present were Sarah Azhari with her sons, Arawinda, Boy William and Stefani Purtri with Asheer who is her boyfriend. (ATN)
