ASIATODAY.ID, JAKARTA – President of the United States (US) Joe Biden congratulated Prabowo Subianto, the President of Indonesia who was elected based on quick qount.
Biden conveyed these remarks in a letter with the official letterhead of the White House, Washington, dated March 12, 2024.
The letter was delivered directly to Prabowo by the United States Ambassador to ASEAN Yohannes Abraham, on Thursday, March 14 2024.
“I would like to congratulate the Indonesian people on the success of the election. This is a testament to our shared commitment to democracy – and to you (Prabowo Subianto) for your superiority in the presidential election vote count. “I look forward to announcing the official results,” Biden said in the letter.
Biden acknowledged that for 75 years, Indonesia and the US have been bound by shared values and a democratic and pluralistic vision for the world. With these values, Indonesia and the US have taken part in maintaining international stability, especially in the Indo-Pacific region.
“Together, we have also maintained international stability, including realizing a free, open, prosperous and safe Indo-Pacific future,” said Biden.
In the letter, Biden also highlighted Prabowo’s role as current Minister of Defense. According to Biden, Prabowo plays an important role in realizing stability in the Indo-Pacific.
“Partnership with you as Indonesia’s Minister of Defense is critical in this effort. I hope to strengthen our countries’ relationship even further as we continue to implement the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership and explore new areas of cooperation,” said Biden.
Furthermore, Biden expressed his prayers for Prabowo. He also said that when Indonesia and the US unite, the two countries will become stronger and the world will be safer.
“Please accept my best wishes, and may the coming years always be marked by peace, prosperity and progress for the people of our two countries,” concluded Biden. (AT Network)
