“One more international flight has been added at Sultan Hasanuddin International Airport. We hope to increase international flight traffic,” he said in an official statement quoted on Friday, July 27 2024.

This new route is expected to be able to accommodate passengers who want to travel to Malaysia and South Sulawesi, as well as meet the needs of Umrah trips passing through Kuala Lumpur.

With this route, there are a total of two airlines serving the Makassar – Kuala Lumpur route, namely AirAsia as a Low Cost Carrier airline and Malaysia Airlines as a Full Service airline, providing more choices for the public.

“Sultan Hasanuddin Airport management is optimistic that this flight will have a positive impact on economic and tourism growth in South Sulawesi,” he added. (AT Network)
