ASIATODAY.ID, JAYAPURA – As many as one thousand cruise ship tourists from Europe, Noordam, will visit tourist destinations in Jayapura, Papua on January 12 2025.
The local government has prepared 200 guides who will guide tourists to various tourist destinations, both in Jayapura City and Jayapura Regency.
“Of the thousand foreign tourists, 300 of them will buy tour packages,” said Erid Rumansara, Acting Head of the Jayapura City Tourism Office, Wednesday, January 7 2025.
The tourists will tour the Hamadi Traditional Market, then the Youtefa Bridge, then the Cenderawasih University Cultural Museum, Vihara and finally Imbi Park.
“At Imbi Park, tourists will enjoy a music festival held by the Jayapura City Arts Council,” he said.
The tourists will be in Jayapura City for seven hours before continuing their tour to Papua New Guinea (PNG) to Australia.
It is said, there are actually two thousand foreign tourists who visit Jayapura City using cruise ships, but only one thousand tourists are confirmed to visit tourist destinations.
“Later on January 25 2025 there will also be visits from foreign tourists to Jayapura City so it is hoped that their arrival can increase income for business actors,” he said again.
The Dutch-flagged Noordam cruise ship has been visiting Indonesia since December 2024, bringing thousands of foreign tourists to big cities in the country, including Surabaya, Bali and Lombok. (AT Network)
