ASIATODAY.ID, VIENNA – The 64th Meeting of the Joint Ministerial Monitoring Committee (JMMC) was held via videoconference on Sunday, 1 February 2026, amid growing attention to production discipline within the OPEC+ alliance.
During the meeting, the JMMC reviewed crude oil production data for November and December 2025, noting overall conformity among OPEC and non-OPEC countries participating in the Declaration of Cooperation (DoC). However, the Committee underscored that compliance alone is not enough.
The JMMC reiterated the critical importance of achieving full conformity and compensation, emphasizing that countries with past overproduction must adhere strictly to updated compensation schedules to preserve market stability.
The Committee also reaffirmed its mandate to continuously monitor adherence to production adjustments agreed at the 38th OPEC and non-OPEC Ministerial Meeting (ONOMM) held on 5 December 2024, as well as the additional voluntary production cuts announced by several participating countries, in line with decisions taken at the 52nd JMMC meeting on 1 February 2024.
Reinforcing its authority, the JMMC confirmed that it retains the right to convene additional meetings or recommend an extraordinary OPEC and non-OPEC Ministerial Meeting if market conditions or compliance levels warrant immediate action, as established during the 38th ONOMM.
The Committee announced that the 65th JMMC meeting is scheduled for 5 April 2026, signaling continued vigilance over oil output levels as global energy markets remain under pressure from geopolitical and economic uncertainties. (AT Network)
