ASIATODAY.ID, JORDANIA – Indonesian Minister of Defense, Prabowo Subianto held a meeting with Jordanian King Abdullah II bin Al-Hussein, in Amman, Jordan, Monday, June 10 2024.
The meeting between the two countries was held as part of a series of activities by Minister Prabowo representing the President of Indonesia, Joko Widodo at the high-level conference “Call for Action: Urgent Humanitarian Response for Gaza” which was held on June 11 2024.
During the meeting, Prabowo conveyed warm greetings from President Jokowi.
Prabowo said that Jordan had been one of Indonesia’s most active partners in fighting for the Palestinian people.
“The Indonesian government is currently also continuing to closely monitor the worsening developments in Gaza,” said Prabowo, quoted from a press release from the Ministry of Defense.
“The number of fatalities and injuries continues to increase. “Indonesia is very concerned about the current condition of the people in Gaza who are very vulnerable,” he continued.
On the other hand, King Abdullah II at the meeting expressed his gratitude and respect for Prabowo’s presence in Jordan representing President Jokowi at the high-level conference on Gaza. (ATN)
