ASIATODAY.ID, PARIS – The Minister of Defense who is also the elected President of Indonesia, Prabowo Subianto, met with the President of France, Emmanuel Macron, at the Elysee Palace, Paris, Wednesday, July 24 2024.
Prabowo was greeted by a line of honor and given a warm welcome directly by President Macron.
At the start of the meeting with President Macron, Minister of Defense Prabowo expressed his thanks for the warm reception.

“Thank you, Your Excellency, for your warm welcome to Indonesia,” said Prabowo, quoted from a press release from the Public Relations Bureau of the Secretariat General of the Ministry of Defense.
On this occasion Prabowo also congratulated France for hosting the 2024 Olympics which will take place from 24 July to 11 August 2024.
“We are confident that this Olympics will be a great success, showcasing the extraordinary talents of athletes from all over the world and uniting countries in a true spirit of friendship and competition,” said Prabowo.
Prabowo said that relations between Indonesia and France have long been established well, and will continue to be strengthened, especially through defense cooperation in other potential aspects.
Indonesia and France have been collaborating in the defense sector in various aspects, especially modernization of defense equipment, defense industry, education and training, as well as dialogue forums.
“We appreciate His Excellency, President Macron, who plays an important and active role in the success of bilateral relations between the two countries. “I am confident that His Majesty’s capacity as president will continue to maintain and increase cooperation between Indonesia and France,” said Prabowo.
During the meeting, Prabowo and Macron also discussed global security issues of mutual concern. (ATN)
