ASIATODAY.ID, JAKARTA – Prison Of Blues has successfully wrapped up an impressive 50-show tour across Indonesia and Europe over a span of three months.
“This marks our fifth invitation to perform at one of the world’s biggest Psychobilly festivals held in Oberhausen, Germany. This year, we also brought along a special guest vocalist, Dellu Uyee,” said guitarist and producer Bayu Randu of Prison Of Blues on Wednesday, November 12, 2025.
The Psychobilly Punk band performed in six European countries—Germany, the Czech Republic, Belgium, Hungary, Austria, and the Netherlands—alongside multiple shows in Indonesia, totaling 50 gigs. This milestone stands as a major achievement for the group, which represents one of Indonesia’s rarest music subcultures.
Formed in 2007 in Temanggung, the “city of tobacco,” Prison Of Blues has evolved with a fresh new lineup: Endy Barock on drums, Topan Murdox on second guitar, Dhana on contrabass, and long-time members Bowo (vocals and guitar) and Bayu Randu (lead guitar and producer).
To date, the band has released 11 compilation albums in Europe and the United States, and four solo albums under their own name.
“This was my first European tour with POB, and honestly, I was shocked,” said Dellu Uyee, the band’s guest vocalist.
“The band is huge here—there were fans coming all the way from California, Spain, and Italy just to see Prison Of Blues perform!”
According to frontman Bowo, the tour also served as a promotional campaign for their fourth album.
“Our 50-stop Indonesia–Europe tour also carried our mission to promote Indonesian culture. Beyond bringing local fabrics and attire, we introduced global audiences to Indonesia’s iconic ghost legends—Pocong, Kuntilanak, and Santet, among others,” he explained.
The European leg of the tour ran from October 3 to 31, culminating in a captivating performance at the Psychobilly Earthquake Festival 2025, where the band once again impressed their devoted European fanbase.
Prison Of Blues had previously been invited to similar major Psychobilly festivals in 2016, 2017, 2018, and 2024.
“There’s something truly special that keeps bringing us back to Europe—the fans,” added drummer Endy Barock.
“It’s funny, because while our following in Indonesia is still small, people in Europe often assume we’re a big band back home. When we tell them that the Psychobilly scene barely exists in Indonesia, they’re genuinely surprised!”
The band also highlighted the difference in the music industry’s professionalism in Europe.
“At every venue, before performing, we had to fill out forms from GEMA, Europe’s equivalent of a CMO or royalty collection agency, listing all songs and their composers. It’s very organized. Even when we covered big-name artists like Motörhead or Queen, there were no licensing hassles,” shared Dhana and Topan.
The 2025 Indonesia–Europe Tour was supported by the Ministry of Culture and several private sponsors, further solidifying Prison Of Blues’ position as one of Indonesia’s most internationally recognized underground acts. (Silvia Andriani)
