“This vote is proof of the resilience and strength of the Indonesian people’s commitment to the democratic process and general election institutions,” explained Miller, in his press statement on Thursday, February 15 2024.

Miller said that the US was waiting for the General Election Commission (KPU) to announce the official election results. He also conveyed the celebration of 75 years of US-Indonesia diplomatic relations.

He hopes to work together with the President-elect and the next Indonesian government, along with legislative institutions to realize shared priorities.

Meanwhile, this priority is to provide benefits to the people of both countries, including regarding climate change, ensuring a prosperous and safe Indo-Pacific region, and maintaining international stability. It was also stated that Indonesia is a close partner of the US, which is guided by the principles of Comprehensive Strategic Partnership (CSP).

Together with the new government in Indonesia, he said that the US and Indonesia will work to realize a better future for both countries’ citizens and address the most pressing challenges of the 21st century.

For the record, President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) on November 13 2023 visited the White House to meet with the President of the United States (US) Joe Biden. Meanwhile, the visit resulted in a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership (CSP).

To follow up on the strategic partnership, US Deputy Chief of Mission in Indonesia Jason P. Rebholz recently visited Indonesia. He said that more than 100 US companies showed interest in clean energy infrastructure worth more than S$100 billion. This was said in the middle of a discussion regarding the progress of the Just Energy Transition Partnership (JETP). (AT Network)
