ASIATODAY.ID, JAKARTA – Rising Indonesian star Veda Ega Pratama etched his name into the history books with a sensational first victory at the 2025 Red Bull MotoGP Rookies Cup, held at the iconic Mugello Circuit in Italy, June 22, 2025. At just 16 years old, Veda delivered a masterclass in racing — showcasing grit, strategy, and relentless determination.

This milestone is not only a personal triumph for Veda but also a breakthrough moment for Indonesian motorcycle racing, signaling a new era of global competitiveness and renewed national pride.

Veda started from P2 on the grid, immediately taking an aggressive approach to snatch the lead in the early corners. But the race was far from smooth. He came under heavy pressure from fellow riders, most notably Brian Uriarte (#51), and slipped back to seventh after some intense battles.

Tensions escalated when Kiandra Ramadhipa, another Indonesian rider, overtook Veda and climbed into the top five with 11 laps to go. Veda fought back valiantly, briefly reclaiming P4 before falling again to sixth by lap 4.

The turning point came with eight laps remaining. Veda executed a daring move — taking the middle line on the straight, sliding to the inside, and overtaking multiple riders in a breathtaking right-hand corner, side by side.

He managed to break away briefly but dropped to P11 with just five laps left. Unfazed, Veda began an incredible comeback, overtaking one rider after another with fierce determination.

With three laps to go, he was back in podium contention. On the final lap, Veda Ega Pratama unleashed everything he had, made the decisive pass for the lead, and defended it to the finish line — securing an emotional and hard-fought victory.

Veda’s Words: “I Just Went Full Speed”

Speaking after the race, Veda revealed that he didn’t follow a special race strategy. He simply trusted his instincts and gave it his all in the final lap.

“Coming out of the last corner toward the finish, I didn’t think they’d get a slipstream. I just tucked in and went as fast as I could,” said Veda, as quoted by the official Red Bull MotoGP Rookies Cup website.

He also mentioned that while his bike wasn’t perfect, it performed well enough. He made some personal adjustments to his riding style and is hopeful this momentum continues in the upcoming rounds.

Veda Ega Pratama’s historic win at Mugello is not just a personal milestone — it’s a powerful inspiration for Indonesia’s young generation. His victory proves that with dedication, courage, and the right mindset, Indonesian riders can conquer the global stage. (AT Network)
