Through this participation, Indonesia invites world upstream oil and gas industry players to invest in Indonesia in order to achieve national energy security.
To attract the interest of potential world investors in this event, SKK Migas together with a number of Cooperation Contract Contractors (KKKS) and six domestic companies introduced the huge potential of Indonesia’s upstream oil and gas sector by opening the Indonesian Pavilion, as well as holding a series of presentations and meetings with upstream industry players. world oil and gas.
This event was attended by representatives of the upstream oil and gas industry from dozens of countries, including Saudi Arabia, Norway, Iraq and Malaysia.
Hudi Suryodipuro, Head of the Program and Communications Division of SKK Migas, emphasized that global investment plays an important role in realizing national energy security.
“Indonesia has enormous potential in the upstream oil and gas sector to realize national energy security. The investment potential in Indonesia’s upstream oil and gas sector is projected to reach IDR 267 trillion in 2024, an increase of 22 percent from the previous year’s realization. This potential is supported by the wealth of resources offered to potential investors, including eight focus areas with potential play including the North Sumatra Area, Timor Area, and Buton Area, as well as 12 farm-in opportunities such as the Andaman I Working Area, Sokang Working Area, and South East Madura Working Area. “To be able to manage this potential optimally, Indonesia needs strong collaboration with global investors,” he explained.
Apart from introducing the potential of national oil and gas reserves, at this event the Indonesian Government explained the commitment of the national upstream oil and gas industry to operate in a greener manner, including by continuing to carry out a number of sustainable innovations.
