Breaking News: Patrick Kluivert Out

Patrick Kluivert. Special

ASIATODAY.ID, JAKARTA — The Indonesian Football Association (PSSI) has officially terminated its cooperation with Patrick Kluivert and his Dutch coaching staff across all levels of the Indonesia National Team, following the squad’s failure to qualify for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

“The Indonesian Football Association (PSSI) and the National Team Coaching Staff have formally agreed to end their cooperation early through a mutual termination mechanism,” read PSSI’s official statement on Thursday, October 16, 2025.

The termination agreement was signed between PSSI and all coaching staff members, who were previously bound by a two-year contract.

The decision came after a comprehensive evaluation of the national team’s performance and internal dynamics within the organization.

“This termination was carried out based on mutual consent, considering internal dynamics and the strategic direction of national team development moving forward,” the statement continued.

Alongside Kluivert, Gerald Vanenburg, coach of the Indonesia U-23 team, and Frank van Kempen, coach of the Indonesia U-20 team, were also relieved of their duties.

“With the end of this cooperation, the coaching staff will no longer oversee Indonesia’s national teams at the senior, U-23, or U-20 levels,” PSSI confirmed.

PSSI expressed its appreciation for Kluivert and his staff’s dedication during their tenure, noting that this move is part of a comprehensive evaluation of Indonesia’s football development and talent programs. (AT Network)
