ASIATODAY.ID, JAKARTA – The Indonesian Ministry of Health together with Team Sweden launched the Sweden-Indonesia Sustainability Partnership Health Services platform or SISP Healthcare Platform.
This launch was inaugurated by the Indonesian Minister of Health, Budi Gunadi Sadikin and the Swedish Ambassador to Indonesia, Timor-Leste and ASEAN, Daniel Blockert in Jakarta, Friday, April 26 2024.
Meanwhile, Team Sweden itself consists of the Swedish Embassy, Business Sweden in Indonesia and Swedish companies.
“This platform shows how stakeholders in Indonesia and Sweden can collaborate in the health sector,” explained Budi.
Budi said, through the SISP Healthcare Platform, the government, academics and the private sector are working together towards a healthier life and prosperity for all parties.
Blockert said that the launch of this platform marks an important moment in the long-term partnership between the two countries.
“Programs, such as capacity building, health service symposiums and joint initiatives, will bring together expertise from both countries to fulfill the Indonesian government’s vision in the field of health services,” he said.
This commitment is in line with Sweden-Indonesia’s commitment to achieving the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), especially in encouraging sustainable health service practices.
Swedish Trade Commissioner for Indonesia, Business Sweden, Erik Odar said that this program was a long dialogue between the two countries that had been going on for several months.
Odar said that what his party wanted to do was see what areas could be developed in Indonesia.
“It’s matching Sweden’s capabilities in various types, and then finding ways to bring what Sweden has to offer in terms of technology and experience to Indonesia to help advance those areas,” he explained.
For the record, the SISP Healthcare Platform has three levels of collaboration, namely between government, academia through the doctoral level (PHD) scholarship program, and the private sector through the health development program.
Swedish companies such as AstraZeneca, Elekta, Essity, Getinge, and Hemocue, collaborate on the SISP Healthcare Platform to bring Swedish innovation and expertise in healthcare services to Indonesia.
Meanwhile, the main focus includes digitalization, cancer care, critical care, diabetes, and maternal and child health. (ATN)
