ASIATODAY.ID, JAKARTA — Indonesia’s pharmaceutical and cosmetics industries continue to shine on the global stage.

A growing number of Indonesian manufacturers have successfully expanded their export markets across Asia, Africa, Europe, the Americas, and Oceania. This achievement reflects the world’s increasing confidence in the quality, standards, and innovation of Indonesian-made beauty, wellness, and healthcare products.

The positive momentum coincides with the Indonesia Pharmaceutical and Cosmetics for Sustainability 2025 exhibition held on 12–14 November 2025 at the Ministry of Industry’s Plaza Industri.

During the event, Taufiek Bawazier, Director General of Chemical, Pharmaceutical, and Textile Industries, emphasized the strong export performance of Indonesia’s pharmaceutical and cosmetics sectors.

Indonesian Beauty and Personal Care Products Rise in Global Demand

Indonesian cosmetics and personal care brands are making notable breakthroughs in global markets with innovative and competitively priced products.

PT Prioritas Jaya Indonesia successfully exports its papaya soap (Jinzu and Thai brands) to Brunei Darussalam, Malaysia, the Philippines, Nigeria, and several Pacific countries.

The company’s perfume lines (Honor and Vlagio) are also exported to Malaysia and the Philippines.

PT Malidas Sterilindo exports its d’orzu bath soap and shampoo to Malaysia.

PT Gemma Natura Lestari ships its Shumi brand to Japan and Secrets to Nigeria.

Indonesia’s global manufacturing strength is also boosted by major multinational facilities operating domestically.

PT Yasulor Indonesia (L’Oréal), the largest L’Oréal factory in the world, dedicates 60% of its production capacity to exports, supplying nearly 20 markets including ASEAN countries, the UAE, Pakistan, Australia, Korea, and South Africa.

Unilever Indonesia exports a wide portfolio of products to 22 countries worldwide.

Pharmaceutical Exports Continue to Expand

Indonesia’s pharmaceutical industry is equally thriving, reaching more markets with high-quality medicines and health supplements.

PT Darya-Varia Laboratoria Tbk exports key products to the Philippines, Hong Kong, and the United Arab Emirates.

State-owned pharmaceutical company PT Indofarma Tbk exports six pharmaceutical products to Afghanistan, three to Singapore, and two to Cambodia.

PT Phapros delivers various medicines and supplements to Timor-Leste, Peru, and Cambodia.

Indonesia’s major pharmaceutical groups are also expanding aggressively:

Dexa Group exports to Southeast Asia (Philippines, Myanmar), Europe (United Kingdom, the Netherlands, Poland), the Americas (United States, Canada), and Africa (Nigeria).

PT Konimex exports a wide range of products to Malaysia, Brunei Darussalam, Vietnam, Cambodia, China, Japan, Saudi Arabia, and Canada.

Indonesian Herbal Products and Essential Oils Gain Global Interest

Indonesia’s rich herbal heritage continues to attract international buyers.

PT Setia Kawan Abadi exports Golden Koffie and Go-Slim to Nigeria, as well as Pinoy Jamu Booster and Integra to the Philippines.

PT Sinkona Indonesia Lestari exports essential oils widely used as cosmetic raw materials — patchouli oil, citronella oil, and nutmeg oil — to various global markets.

Global Validation of Indonesia’s Product Excellence

According to Taufiek Bawazier, the rising export numbers reflect international recognition of Indonesia’s product quality and innovation.

“The global market is increasingly seeking products that combine high-quality natural ingredients with modern technology. The ability to penetrate such diverse markets proves that Indonesian products have strong global competitiveness,” he said during the exhibition visit.

Strengthening Indonesia’s Position as a Global Supplier

These achievements demonstrate the resilience and growth of Indonesia’s strategic manufacturing sector.

Beyond significant foreign exchange contribution, the success of pharmaceutical and cosmetics exports strengthens Indonesia’s image as a trusted global producer of high-quality health, beauty, and wellness products. (AT Network)
