Sail Cenderawasih Bay Introduces Indonesian Maritime Tourism

ASIATODAY.ID, BIAK – Various attractive performances colored the Cenderawasih Bay Sail which was held on Thursday, November 23 2023 in the Samau Beach area, Biak Numfor Regency, Papua.

This event is a momentum to promote the potential of Indonesian marine tourism, especially in Papua.

Moreover, Papua is Indonesia’s homepage in the Pacific Region which has abundant natural resources, one of which is Cenderawasih Bay which has the richest marine ecosystem in Indonesia.

The Cenderawasih Bay Sail 2023 will take place from 21 November to 27 November 2023 in Biak Numfor. The opening of this event was filled with a sailing pass which was attended by local fishermen and TNI ships, traditional Papuan dances, and parachuting attractions from the TNI and Polri.

“Cendrawasih Bay is a paradise for coral reefs, a paradise for marine life and we hope that with the Cendrawasih Bay Sail, culture, dance, music, local Papuan products can be introduced to the national level and even to the international level, to the global level,” said President Jokowi in opening of Sail Cenderawasih Bay 2023.

President Jokowi said that Indonesia is a country with an area dominated by the ocean. The President hopes that the presence of this event can further strengthen Indonesia’s existence as a marine tourism destination.

“I hope that the Sail Teluk Cenderawasih event can introduce our maritime potential, maritime potential, tourism potential and socio-cultural potential,” he said. (AT Network)
