ASIATODAY.ID, JAKARTA – The new coach of the Indonesian national team Patrick Kluivert arrived in Indonesia on Saturday evening.
When he arrived at Soekarno Hatta International Airport, Kluivert was immediately greeted warmly by dozens of Patrick supporters and fans.
After arriving in Indonesia, Kluivert is planned to be introduced to the public by the Indonesian Football Association (PSSI) on Sunday, January 12 2024.
Next on the agenda, Kluivert will meet Indonesian national team players who play domestically.
Next, Kluivert is planned to meet with the Executive Committee (Exco) of the Indonesian Football Association, the Minister of Youth and Sports and visit the training facilities usually used by the Indonesian national team.
The Indonesian Football Association officially announced Kluivert as the new coach on Wednesday, January 8 2025, two days after the announcement of Shin Tae-yong’s dismissal.
The Dutch football legend has a two-year contract until 2027 with an extension option, with the immediate target being to get Indonesia to qualify for the 2026 World Cup.
In carrying out his duties, Kluivert will be assisted by two Dutch assistant coaches, namely Alex Pastoor and Denny Landzaat. Apart from these two names, there will be two local Indonesian coaches who will become Kluivert’s assistants later.
Kluivert’s debut as coach for Indonesia will be in two third round qualifying matches for the 2026 World Cup against Australia and Bahrain on March 20 and 25 2025. (AT Network)
