Fantastic: Jakarta Festive Wonders 2025 Generates Nearly USD 1 Billion in Transactions

ASIATODAY.ID, JAKARTA — The Jakarta Festive Wonders (JFW) 2025 event delivered a major economic boost to Indonesia’s capital, generating IDR 15.25 trillion or nearly USD 1 Billion in transactions during its run from December 12, 2025, to January 2026.

The festival, which brought together shopping malls, retail businesses, and the hospitality sector, significantly supported Jakarta’s economic momentum amid a challenging global environment.

The achievement was announced by Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung during the official closing ceremony of JFW 2025 at Grand Indonesia Mall, Menteng, Central Jakarta, on Tuesday, January 13, 2026.

“Collaboration between the government and the business community is the key to maintaining resilience while strengthening Jakarta’s economic competitiveness amid global dynamics,” Pramono said.

According to a report from the Assistant for Economic and Financial Affairs, transactions in the mall and retail sectors rose by up to 15 percent, reaching a total value of IDR 15.25 trillion, or nearly USD 1 billion. Meanwhile, hotel occupancy rates increased by 5 percent compared with the same period last year.

Governor Pramono emphasized that the shopping mall, retail, and hospitality sectors remain among the main engines of Jakarta’s economy, while also serving as a showcase for the city’s growing global appeal.

As part of the event, the JFW 2025 Awards were presented to businesses recognized for delivering the most innovative and engaging concepts in enlivening Jakarta during the festive season.

The 24 award recipients included SOGO; Ibis Styles Jakarta Mangga Dua Square; The Tavia Heritage Hotel; Aryaduta Menteng; Grand Indonesia; Emporium Pluit Mall; Green Sedayu Mall; Thamrin City; Funworld; Mimaru Hotel Jakarta; JS Luwansa Hotel & Convention; Fairmont Jakarta; Central Park; Peak Avenue; Epiwalk; Pusat Grosir Cililitan; Mr. D.I.Y.; Cabin Hotel; El Hotel Jakarta; Mandarin Oriental Jakarta; Lippo Mall Puri; Ashta; Plaza Slipi Jaya; and Season City.
