Through UAE support, said Bahlil, Indonesia can accelerate the development of the energy sector by utilizing innovative technology and sustainable management of mineral resources. “Through this Memorandum of Understanding, we are not only strengthening friendship, but creating concrete solutions in overcoming domestic and global energy challenges,” explained Bahlil.

Bahlil said that this collaboration could encourage collaboration between business entities from the two countries in the mineral supply chain sector, which includes integrated midstream and downstream processing and manufacturing.

“This collaboration is part of the development of new renewable energy, including decarbonization initiatives, reducing emissions, and developing oil and gas activities including upstream and downstream by encouraging low-emission technology and innovation,” he added.

In detail, the implementation of the cooperation contained in this Memorandum of Understanding includes sharing knowledge related to policies, strategies and regulations, opening up financing opportunities in the Carbon Capture Storage/Carbon Capture Utilization Storage (CCS/CCUS) project and developing innovative technology for biofuel and hydrogen, as well as increasing Human Resources competency in the energy sector.
