ASIATODAY.ID, JAKARTA — Tan Sri Lee Kim Yew, Founder of Golden Horse Global Vision, has expressed profound appreciation to the Ministers, leaders, and people of Indonesia for their remarkable contribution to the success of the World Peace Forum (WPF) 2025 held at the Grand Sahid Jaya Hotel, Jakarta, from November 9–11, 2025.
In a heartfelt address and two letters titled Letter of Appreciation and Letter of Gratitude and Encouragement, Lee praised Indonesia as the moral and spiritual compass of global peace, highlighting its leadership in guiding humanity toward harmony and justice through Wasatiyyat — the Islamic principle of moderation.
A Message to Delegates: “Peace Is Humanity’s Duty”
“Dear Honorable Delegates, Friends, and Peacebuilders,” Lee began, as he addressed participants at the forum’s closing ceremony.
“As the World Peace Forum 2025 draws to a close, I extend my deepest gratitude and heartfelt admiration to every participant, leader, and thinker who has gathered here in Jakarta to share one noble purpose — to make peace not just a dream, but a duty of humanity.”
He reflected that over the meaningful days of the forum, the participants had not only spoken of peace but lived it.
“In your faces, I saw the hope of nations; in your words, I heard the conscience of humanity. This gathering has become a living testimony that the human spirit still believes in goodness, wisdom, and cooperation,” he said.
Indonesia: The Living Laboratory of Harmony
Lee highlighted that Indonesia — built upon the foundation of Bhinneka Tunggal Ika (Unity in Diversity) — provides the most natural home for the World Peace Forum.
“Here in Indonesia, Islam, Christianity, Buddhism, Hinduism, and indigenous traditions coexist in mutual respect,” he said.
“You have shown that faith and peace can grow together, that diversity is not a problem to solve, but a treasure to celebrate.”
He described Indonesia as a living laboratory of harmony, where unity is sustained by the moral strength of its people.
“This Forum reminds the world that Wasatiyyat, the Islamic principle of moderation, is a universal virtue — the same wisdom found in the Confucian Doctrine of the Mean (中庸), where it is said: ‘Sincerity is the Way of Heaven, and to become sincere is the Way of Man.’”
“When the heart is sincere (Cheng), balance arises naturally. When the mind is moderate (Wasatiyyat), peace blossoms without force. Thus, the Way of Heaven and the Way of Humanity become one — this is the true foundation of world peace.”
The Spirit We Must Carry Forward
Tan Sri Lee Kim Yew reminded the delegates that the World Peace Forum was not the end of a conversation but the beginning of a movement.
“From Jakarta, let the message travel to every continent — that peace is not the silence after war, but the harmony of hearts that refuse hatred. Moderation is not weakness, but the highest form of strength; and sincerity, not ideology, is what unites civilizations.”
He called on the world to continue the spirit of peace in communities, parliaments, schools, and families:
“Let us build bridges of understanding across religions, races, and nations, for no wall built by fear can last longer than a bridge built by trust.”
A Word of Gratitude to Indonesia and Its Leaders
Lee extended his deep gratitude to Prof. Dr. M. Din Syamsuddin, Chairman of the World Peace Forum, for transforming a vision into a legacy.
“To Prof. Din Syamsuddin and the organizing team — your leadership has turned a vision into a legacy. To the people of Indonesia — thank you for opening your hearts and your land to the world. Your kindness, hospitality, and faith in peace will be remembered as a light from the heart of Asia.”
He also commended the Indonesian government ministries — from Foreign Affairs and Religious Affairs to Education, Defense, and Tourism — whose cooperation turned the forum into a moral and intellectual milestone.
A Call for the Future
Lee concluded his message with a powerful call for continued unity and moral leadership:
“Let us pledge to meet again, not merely in conferences, but in our daily actions — where peace is practiced through honesty, compassion, and courage.”
“Let the Jakarta Declaration of Peace be written not only on paper, but in the hearts of everyone who believes that truth, sincerity, and balance are the eternal paths to harmony.”
“Together, let us uphold the principle that peace is the highest form of civilization. And let Indonesia — with its spirit of Wasatiyyat and Pancasila — be the shining example of hope for all nations.”
