ASIATODAY.ID, JAKARTA – Indonesian and European companies signed seven Memorandums of Understanding (MoU) to start strategic cooperation. This signing took place at the Indonesia – Europe Business Forum (IEBF) 2024 which took place on Monday, October 7 2024 at the Shangri-La Hotel, Jakarta.
This year’s IEBF is the third time it has been held, following on from the inaugural IEBF in 2022 and the second IEBF which was held last year.
The IEBF 2024 this time was organized by the Indonesian Ministry of Foreign Affairs with the theme Promoting Indonesia-Europe Business Collaboration Towards A More Sustainable and Equitable Economic Development “consisting of three main activities, namely Business Pitching, Business Matching, and Mini Showcase to bring together business people from both parties, showcasing the latest Indonesian products, technologies and innovations, as well as presenting projects and innovations from Indonesian entrepreneurs to potential investors.

“For European countries, Indonesia is a strategic gateway to markets in Asia and Southeast Asia. “On the other hand, European countries are important partners for Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) as well as access to advanced technology, capital and markets,” said Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Indonesia, Pahala Nugraha Mansury, when opening the IEBF event.
Meanwhile, Shinta Widjaja Kamdani as chairman of APINDO said that Europe is a strategic partner in Indonesia’s economic development. Through this IEBF forum, Indonesia and Europe can further expand and deepen trade and investment relations.
Shinta Kamdani in the press briefing also said that the partnership that exists between the government and business players through IEBF 2024 activities is very important to explore new potential, in addition to the need to strive for I-EU-CEPA.
During the IEBF 2024 and Road to IEBF 2024, a transaction value of US$11.07 billion was generated.
A total of 6 companies have participated in business pitching and 11 institutions have displayed their products and services in mini showcases. It was recorded that 122 European companies and 123 Indonesian companies were present and participating in a series of IEBF 2024 activities including business matching. (AT Network)
